Our time in Germany is almost over.

We have spent the last 3 years living in Germany, as you all may know. It has been long but short at the same time. We are more then ready to leave here and start our new life in Great Falls Montana!
The movers come this up coming week the next week the jeep goes, then its us the week after.
We will start our two days of travailing on Feb 10th. We hope the weather is good for us, so we dont have to worry about getting stuck some place. I never thought moving was so stressful when i was younger, i guess because when your a kid you have nothing to do. but it really is craziness.

Wes just turned 2 years old on Jan 18th. He used to be such a sweet kid, but the last two weeks its been his way or the high way. He is starting to show us he really can talk!!! the last year i was getting pretty worried wondering when he was going to start talking.. It's been nice big words like grandma & dinosaur. who knew?! lol

Roy will be 3 years old in March and the closer we get to 3 the nice roy is coming back out. Roy loves his animals (little figure's)and his car's. There is no taking them away from him not even at bed time. He has to have them with him at all times.

We where able to have Joey Hoh here with us for awhile while he was here in Germany for training for the military. Joey and Nate where good high school friends. For the last 4 years i have heard so many stories of things Joey and Nate did while in high school, so our family was really looking forward to having him. It was a great time, and we hope Joey enjoyed himself while he was at our home.

Well for now, have a wonderful day & take care!

its been awhile

months have past from my last post, i guess i just forgot?

Well we got our number one pick! Malmstrom AFB, in Great Falls Montana!

As it gets really close to our move to Montana, i feel like nothing is done.. i really hate this whole military waiting game... Im worried about it so much it's driving me nut. The day we get hard copy orders then we can get everything started! until then we have no idea when we will ship our jeep, or our house hold goods??? Only 1 month and 2 weeks unill we leave Germany.
We look online all the time for places for rent in Great Fall's but it seems like no one likes to post anything for rent online? or im just looking in all the wrong places.

Today i was thinking about how Wes is 1 year and 11 months old as of today. OMG 1 month until he is 2 years old! then i will have two 2 year olds! how crazy will my home be? please pray i for me that i can make it till march when roy turns 3!
Roy is getting really smart with his animals. he loves them so much, and can tell you almost every animal he sees & Wes is starting to get really good with his please and thank you's but still wont pick something he likes on his own other then what his big brother likes.

Christmas is in 1 week, omg 1 week. and as much as i know im done shopping, i like to think im not, just because i keep seeing so many things i want to get the boys. I think this year Roy will know whats going on, he is really into santa this year. and with us watching a million christmas movies i think he has it all under control! Tho my tree has a nice amount of gifts under there from family back home, my tree does not have much on it thanks to my wonderful Wes who loves to take the stuff off the tree and break them all..

Well i will try and update more on here...
Have a wonderful weekend!

the list is out

Our list is out, and we only have 4 bases to pick from... They are
1. Malmstrom AFB Montana
2. Tinker AFB, Oklahoma
3. Hurlburt Field AFB, Florida
4. Cannon AFB, New Mexico

and thats the order of them on our dream sheet!
We think Montana would be the best place for us, now we just have to wait for November to get here already so we can find out where we are going...
the last place we want to go to is Cannon. We found out it is the worst base in the Air Force, and in the middle of no where.

The weather here in Germany is staying pretty nice, the sun is out today and for Germany weather and anyone who knows or have lived here, knows that Oct there is no sun and the weather is never nice. I have to say for our last year here we have really enjoyed the Weather!

Roy and Wes are doing really good!
Roy enjoys his coloring and watching his blues clues! The other night while he was laying in bed he was saying the ABC's not in order, but he was trying!
Roy really enjoys talking to Grandma on the phone, they always talk about their fun they had together while we spent a nice long month at her house!
Wes is starting to talk and talk, today i got him to say i love you mommy so much! Wes talking no way.. this is the kid that waited till he was almost a year and half to start walking...

Nate is doing really good with work, they are talking about sending him to ALS next month, but he really hopes they will wait until we PCS that way he can get everything he needs to get done on time. He came home the other day and told me he wanted to sell our truck.. im a little sad and happy at the same time, sad because i love that truck and the whole family fits in there! but happy because its going to save us so so so much money. I was really not looking forward to shipping it back to the states (military only pays for one car to be shipped) and then having to plan 2 trips to what ever port is close to our base. I told him dont sell if you dont really want too, trying to talk him out of it but he has his mind set and it is his truck...

Im still working at the brick house, and enjoying the events that we have had going on. Im working alot on the weekends and missing out on family time. Nate is doing a wonderful job keeping the house clean and the boys happy!

a little late...

Its been really crazy in the Sandberg home.
First off, our trip back to the states was amazing, we enjoyed seeing everyone and getting out doing lots of things we have missed in the last 3 years here in Germany.
It took us 1 full day of waiting @ Ramstein AFB to get a flight out of here, had no luck so we drove an hour and half back home to get a few hours of sleep (note we had no sleep for over 24 hours at this point) had about 5 hours of sleep we got back up at midnight and heading back down to Ramstein. That was our lucky day! we got out on the first flight to Charleston AFB in SC our flight was at 330am but for some reason we did not leave until about 8am, went in the air for about 30 min and then had to head back to Ramstein, to get something fixed. After 2 hours latter we took off again. and landed in Charleston at about 410pm! We got ourselfs a rental car and was out of Charleston by 6pm! There was no way i was going to let my family sit around waiting for someone to help us like alot of other people that where flying with us who by the way when we left base in our taxi to take us to the rental car they where still running around like chickens with no heads... ha. Nathan told me a million times how an i did such an amazing job getting us out of there and to the rental car! We had pretty much no sleep, but where so pumped we drove till about 10pm that night to get some shut eye, and then hit the road the bright and early at 23am. Nate got to have his first eating at a Waffle house! he was so please with it, he cant wait to go back! we got to see the sun rise in the smoky mountains by the way it was so pretty driving at that time. We only stoped to eat and bathroom stops, there was no way we where going to take any time away from getting home to see our family! (I drove the whole way from Charleston to Cambridge) We made it to Illinois at about 330pm and had no problem staying up the rest of the day. but when we hit our the bed we where out!
Our almost month vacation in the states was so much fun, we had a blast with Grandma and Grandpa Sandberg, and Rachel & Brian, got to see other family who we have missed and our friends!
Our trip back to Charleston was so LONG! we where late turning in the rental car by 2 hours... oops. We stoped 2 nights on our drive and every few hours we would change drivers, and we still could not keep our eyes open, but then again we did stop to sight see some! The night b4 we got to Charleston we called and there was a flight going out at 1540 (340pm) so we thought we would get really lucky, until we got there to find out the flight was a no go... So we ended up in the termal the whole day and that whole night... Thank god they had cribs in the family room so the boys could get some sleep, but the problem was ONLY the kids could sleep there... Nate and i did not care but so we would take time sleeping, but when it was my time to stay up, i would always fall asleep, so we got told about 10 times there was no sleeping...
We ended up getting on a flight to Spangdahlem! It was nice because we did not have to drive over an hour to get home after getting to Germany...
over all it was amazing and we enjoyed every min of it.
we enjoyed taking a military flight and we enjoyed the long car rides and the amazing moments with family and friends!
ill post pictures latter!

sitting at work doing nothing...

Im just sitting at work on this Saturday, wishing i was at home with the family. The house needs to be cleaned, and the packing needs to get done, we have been so busy the last few weeks. I had forgot what it was like to always be at work, but its even harder when you have a family. I see less of the boys and nate and im not liking it one bit...
Im not sure how much more i will keep up with this. I do enjoy bring money into the home, but when you pay most of you check to the baby sitter im not so sure its doing us any good...
We have 4 days left until our leave starts and we are not even packed all the way...
I looked up the weather today and i saw its going to be in the 70's for the rest of the month, so it looks like we will have to re-pack our clothes... We where hoping for really hot weather.
We are still not sure if we will rent a car for the whole time we are home or just for the drive from the east cost to Illinois and then again on our way back to the east cost, im not sure what way would save us money?? We also have no hotel booked, but thats also really hard to do when we have no idea where we will be landing into.
We are looking forward to seeing some Cambridge Football games while we are home! the last game nate saw them play was the state game he was in back in 2005. Also we found out that a few of our friends who are also in the military will be home at the same time, so it will be nice to see them while we are home.
Today is Nate's 3 years in the Air Force!
