the list is out

Our list is out, and we only have 4 bases to pick from... They are
1. Malmstrom AFB Montana
2. Tinker AFB, Oklahoma
3. Hurlburt Field AFB, Florida
4. Cannon AFB, New Mexico

and thats the order of them on our dream sheet!
We think Montana would be the best place for us, now we just have to wait for November to get here already so we can find out where we are going...
the last place we want to go to is Cannon. We found out it is the worst base in the Air Force, and in the middle of no where.

The weather here in Germany is staying pretty nice, the sun is out today and for Germany weather and anyone who knows or have lived here, knows that Oct there is no sun and the weather is never nice. I have to say for our last year here we have really enjoyed the Weather!

Roy and Wes are doing really good!
Roy enjoys his coloring and watching his blues clues! The other night while he was laying in bed he was saying the ABC's not in order, but he was trying!
Roy really enjoys talking to Grandma on the phone, they always talk about their fun they had together while we spent a nice long month at her house!
Wes is starting to talk and talk, today i got him to say i love you mommy so much! Wes talking no way.. this is the kid that waited till he was almost a year and half to start walking...

Nate is doing really good with work, they are talking about sending him to ALS next month, but he really hopes they will wait until we PCS that way he can get everything he needs to get done on time. He came home the other day and told me he wanted to sell our truck.. im a little sad and happy at the same time, sad because i love that truck and the whole family fits in there! but happy because its going to save us so so so much money. I was really not looking forward to shipping it back to the states (military only pays for one car to be shipped) and then having to plan 2 trips to what ever port is close to our base. I told him dont sell if you dont really want too, trying to talk him out of it but he has his mind set and it is his truck...

Im still working at the brick house, and enjoying the events that we have had going on. Im working alot on the weekends and missing out on family time. Nate is doing a wonderful job keeping the house clean and the boys happy!

a little late...

Its been really crazy in the Sandberg home.
First off, our trip back to the states was amazing, we enjoyed seeing everyone and getting out doing lots of things we have missed in the last 3 years here in Germany.
It took us 1 full day of waiting @ Ramstein AFB to get a flight out of here, had no luck so we drove an hour and half back home to get a few hours of sleep (note we had no sleep for over 24 hours at this point) had about 5 hours of sleep we got back up at midnight and heading back down to Ramstein. That was our lucky day! we got out on the first flight to Charleston AFB in SC our flight was at 330am but for some reason we did not leave until about 8am, went in the air for about 30 min and then had to head back to Ramstein, to get something fixed. After 2 hours latter we took off again. and landed in Charleston at about 410pm! We got ourselfs a rental car and was out of Charleston by 6pm! There was no way i was going to let my family sit around waiting for someone to help us like alot of other people that where flying with us who by the way when we left base in our taxi to take us to the rental car they where still running around like chickens with no heads... ha. Nathan told me a million times how an i did such an amazing job getting us out of there and to the rental car! We had pretty much no sleep, but where so pumped we drove till about 10pm that night to get some shut eye, and then hit the road the bright and early at 23am. Nate got to have his first eating at a Waffle house! he was so please with it, he cant wait to go back! we got to see the sun rise in the smoky mountains by the way it was so pretty driving at that time. We only stoped to eat and bathroom stops, there was no way we where going to take any time away from getting home to see our family! (I drove the whole way from Charleston to Cambridge) We made it to Illinois at about 330pm and had no problem staying up the rest of the day. but when we hit our the bed we where out!
Our almost month vacation in the states was so much fun, we had a blast with Grandma and Grandpa Sandberg, and Rachel & Brian, got to see other family who we have missed and our friends!
Our trip back to Charleston was so LONG! we where late turning in the rental car by 2 hours... oops. We stoped 2 nights on our drive and every few hours we would change drivers, and we still could not keep our eyes open, but then again we did stop to sight see some! The night b4 we got to Charleston we called and there was a flight going out at 1540 (340pm) so we thought we would get really lucky, until we got there to find out the flight was a no go... So we ended up in the termal the whole day and that whole night... Thank god they had cribs in the family room so the boys could get some sleep, but the problem was ONLY the kids could sleep there... Nate and i did not care but so we would take time sleeping, but when it was my time to stay up, i would always fall asleep, so we got told about 10 times there was no sleeping...
We ended up getting on a flight to Spangdahlem! It was nice because we did not have to drive over an hour to get home after getting to Germany...
over all it was amazing and we enjoyed every min of it.
we enjoyed taking a military flight and we enjoyed the long car rides and the amazing moments with family and friends!
ill post pictures latter!
