its been awhile

months have past from my last post, i guess i just forgot?

Well we got our number one pick! Malmstrom AFB, in Great Falls Montana!

As it gets really close to our move to Montana, i feel like nothing is done.. i really hate this whole military waiting game... Im worried about it so much it's driving me nut. The day we get hard copy orders then we can get everything started! until then we have no idea when we will ship our jeep, or our house hold goods??? Only 1 month and 2 weeks unill we leave Germany.
We look online all the time for places for rent in Great Fall's but it seems like no one likes to post anything for rent online? or im just looking in all the wrong places.

Today i was thinking about how Wes is 1 year and 11 months old as of today. OMG 1 month until he is 2 years old! then i will have two 2 year olds! how crazy will my home be? please pray i for me that i can make it till march when roy turns 3!
Roy is getting really smart with his animals. he loves them so much, and can tell you almost every animal he sees & Wes is starting to get really good with his please and thank you's but still wont pick something he likes on his own other then what his big brother likes.

Christmas is in 1 week, omg 1 week. and as much as i know im done shopping, i like to think im not, just because i keep seeing so many things i want to get the boys. I think this year Roy will know whats going on, he is really into santa this year. and with us watching a million christmas movies i think he has it all under control! Tho my tree has a nice amount of gifts under there from family back home, my tree does not have much on it thanks to my wonderful Wes who loves to take the stuff off the tree and break them all..

Well i will try and update more on here...
Have a wonderful weekend!

the list is out

Our list is out, and we only have 4 bases to pick from... They are
1. Malmstrom AFB Montana
2. Tinker AFB, Oklahoma
3. Hurlburt Field AFB, Florida
4. Cannon AFB, New Mexico

and thats the order of them on our dream sheet!
We think Montana would be the best place for us, now we just have to wait for November to get here already so we can find out where we are going...
the last place we want to go to is Cannon. We found out it is the worst base in the Air Force, and in the middle of no where.

The weather here in Germany is staying pretty nice, the sun is out today and for Germany weather and anyone who knows or have lived here, knows that Oct there is no sun and the weather is never nice. I have to say for our last year here we have really enjoyed the Weather!

Roy and Wes are doing really good!
Roy enjoys his coloring and watching his blues clues! The other night while he was laying in bed he was saying the ABC's not in order, but he was trying!
Roy really enjoys talking to Grandma on the phone, they always talk about their fun they had together while we spent a nice long month at her house!
Wes is starting to talk and talk, today i got him to say i love you mommy so much! Wes talking no way.. this is the kid that waited till he was almost a year and half to start walking...

Nate is doing really good with work, they are talking about sending him to ALS next month, but he really hopes they will wait until we PCS that way he can get everything he needs to get done on time. He came home the other day and told me he wanted to sell our truck.. im a little sad and happy at the same time, sad because i love that truck and the whole family fits in there! but happy because its going to save us so so so much money. I was really not looking forward to shipping it back to the states (military only pays for one car to be shipped) and then having to plan 2 trips to what ever port is close to our base. I told him dont sell if you dont really want too, trying to talk him out of it but he has his mind set and it is his truck...

Im still working at the brick house, and enjoying the events that we have had going on. Im working alot on the weekends and missing out on family time. Nate is doing a wonderful job keeping the house clean and the boys happy!

a little late...

Its been really crazy in the Sandberg home.
First off, our trip back to the states was amazing, we enjoyed seeing everyone and getting out doing lots of things we have missed in the last 3 years here in Germany.
It took us 1 full day of waiting @ Ramstein AFB to get a flight out of here, had no luck so we drove an hour and half back home to get a few hours of sleep (note we had no sleep for over 24 hours at this point) had about 5 hours of sleep we got back up at midnight and heading back down to Ramstein. That was our lucky day! we got out on the first flight to Charleston AFB in SC our flight was at 330am but for some reason we did not leave until about 8am, went in the air for about 30 min and then had to head back to Ramstein, to get something fixed. After 2 hours latter we took off again. and landed in Charleston at about 410pm! We got ourselfs a rental car and was out of Charleston by 6pm! There was no way i was going to let my family sit around waiting for someone to help us like alot of other people that where flying with us who by the way when we left base in our taxi to take us to the rental car they where still running around like chickens with no heads... ha. Nathan told me a million times how an i did such an amazing job getting us out of there and to the rental car! We had pretty much no sleep, but where so pumped we drove till about 10pm that night to get some shut eye, and then hit the road the bright and early at 23am. Nate got to have his first eating at a Waffle house! he was so please with it, he cant wait to go back! we got to see the sun rise in the smoky mountains by the way it was so pretty driving at that time. We only stoped to eat and bathroom stops, there was no way we where going to take any time away from getting home to see our family! (I drove the whole way from Charleston to Cambridge) We made it to Illinois at about 330pm and had no problem staying up the rest of the day. but when we hit our the bed we where out!
Our almost month vacation in the states was so much fun, we had a blast with Grandma and Grandpa Sandberg, and Rachel & Brian, got to see other family who we have missed and our friends!
Our trip back to Charleston was so LONG! we where late turning in the rental car by 2 hours... oops. We stoped 2 nights on our drive and every few hours we would change drivers, and we still could not keep our eyes open, but then again we did stop to sight see some! The night b4 we got to Charleston we called and there was a flight going out at 1540 (340pm) so we thought we would get really lucky, until we got there to find out the flight was a no go... So we ended up in the termal the whole day and that whole night... Thank god they had cribs in the family room so the boys could get some sleep, but the problem was ONLY the kids could sleep there... Nate and i did not care but so we would take time sleeping, but when it was my time to stay up, i would always fall asleep, so we got told about 10 times there was no sleeping...
We ended up getting on a flight to Spangdahlem! It was nice because we did not have to drive over an hour to get home after getting to Germany...
over all it was amazing and we enjoyed every min of it.
we enjoyed taking a military flight and we enjoyed the long car rides and the amazing moments with family and friends!
ill post pictures latter!

sitting at work doing nothing...

Im just sitting at work on this Saturday, wishing i was at home with the family. The house needs to be cleaned, and the packing needs to get done, we have been so busy the last few weeks. I had forgot what it was like to always be at work, but its even harder when you have a family. I see less of the boys and nate and im not liking it one bit...
Im not sure how much more i will keep up with this. I do enjoy bring money into the home, but when you pay most of you check to the baby sitter im not so sure its doing us any good...
We have 4 days left until our leave starts and we are not even packed all the way...
I looked up the weather today and i saw its going to be in the 70's for the rest of the month, so it looks like we will have to re-pack our clothes... We where hoping for really hot weather.
We are still not sure if we will rent a car for the whole time we are home or just for the drive from the east cost to Illinois and then again on our way back to the east cost, im not sure what way would save us money?? We also have no hotel booked, but thats also really hard to do when we have no idea where we will be landing into.
We are looking forward to seeing some Cambridge Football games while we are home! the last game nate saw them play was the state game he was in back in 2005. Also we found out that a few of our friends who are also in the military will be home at the same time, so it will be nice to see them while we are home.
Today is Nate's 3 years in the Air Force!

We have been so busy

In the last few weeks it has been so crazy around the house.

I started my job, and love it. There is nothing to complain about when it comes to working there, a few hours of just sitting around, watching TV and cleaning the place up.
The people i work with, or i should say see at shift change are really nice and seem really cool!

Roy and Wes really like the babysitter, Maggie. Roy talks about her so much, "I wanna go see Maggie's doggies". She is really great with them and i could not be any happier with our pick in babysitters!

Roy has been doing so good when it comes to potty training. He loves going on the big boy toilet. The only thing is that he is very quit sometimes and on going to the bathroom that he gets his poop everywhere.... As much as i hate cleaning it up, its still funny every time.
Nate put Roy in big boy underwear and Roy did not even have one oops. Roy has always been so great at letting us know when he wants to learn something, he loves learning and almost has potty training down!!!

Wes had been letting us know when he has to pee pee, but im not sure if its only because he see' roy do it or because he may also be ready very soon here! Wes also almost has all his teeth in! YAY for mommy and daddy, no more teething until Wes' 2 year molars.

We had an doctor appt. the other day for a check up on Roy & Wes and the boys are growing great! Roy is 29.2 lbs and 35" Wes is 24.5 lbs and 31.5"

We picked up a few new things for our house this past weekend! It's so crazy to think that just 2 and half years ago we came to Germany with nothing other then a bed, clothes and baby stuff. Now our house is just the way we want it. We also have our eyes set on an amazing German Shrunk that we cant leave Germany with out. We hope the Shrunk is still at the little shop on base when we get back from our Vacation. We already have the perfect place for it! Nate and I joked and said the shrunk would be better to have then going home! not really tho but its that beautiful and would fit into our country home so wonderful!

On August 22 Nate has been in the Air Force for 3 years now!!! We are at our half way mark of getting out. Some days i wonder if he will really get out or stay in. He has done so well at his job and everything they Air Force has had him do. Nate will be going to ALS when we get back from our vacation!!! and then will be testing for staff in spring of 2010, he was only 5 days shy of putting SRA on this year so he could not test. I know Nate would make a wonderful Staff Sergeant!

I dont have any more time to write more, we have such a busy week ahead of us we are dog sitting this week and with work and packing and sending our cloths to the states for our vacation next month i dont know when ill get back to do a good update on the family!
but until then, have a good week!!!

Hello Monday!

Sitting at the computer with a cup of coffee, a clean house, laundry done until mid week, and a quite house, well until the boys wake up! This Monday is starting off great!

This weekend was a low key weekend for the Sandberg's. Not doing much of anything other then renting movies and playing out side. The weather was pretty nice, not in the 90's like i wished but hey thats okay im used to it.. Its Germany for that matter, but the weather this summer has been better then the last 2 summers while being here.

Nathan and I have been doing alot of thinking about whats to come for us in the next few months at Spangdahlem and at our next base. NEXT BASE!!!!! OMG so next month the rumor has it, we will find out what is open for us!!!!! but Nate says we still have to wait to find out what we get until around Oct. but hey i dont mind i just want to know where we could be living next so we can start some online house shopping!  not like we have not been doing so already, but this time we wont just be picking a base and looking at homes around each base!

So I got the Job!  my job title is Recreation Aid. I have a feeling its going to be a pretty easy job. Im not sure when i start but im heading to the NAF office today to fill out some more paper work and then maybe they will be able to tell me when i start.
Its going to be hard taking the boy's to a babysitter but i think its best for them and myself.

Well this quite time is about to end, got to get the kids up and ready to head to daddy's work.

looks like the sun is out to stay today! maybe the park will be where we are most the day!

Have a good Monday!

working mommy?

So after being in Germany for 2 and half years i have wanted to work, but was not ready to take the kids to day care. The time has come and i started looking for jobs just for fun to see if i would even get a interview. I got the best job offer for myself. working at the hotel on base, i say its the best job because when i do go back to school i want to go back for hotel management, and one day own a hotel! While working at the Holiday Inn in the states before moving to Germany was the only job i loved durning my working years, and i thought it was a great career field for myself. It was what i could see myself doing and would love ever min of it...
Well i got the job, the lady wanted me so bad until i told her about our vacation in Sept. then telling me im sorry i cant take you on my staff, witch is very understandable. why train someone for a month and then have them leave for  month. I was down in the blue's about it, i just knew that job should have been mine...  Nate keeps telling me something better will come along..
after getting calls from Aafes about jobs, and telling them no im sorry thats not for me... i get a call from the Naf office about a job at the community center/brick house! I really would like to get out  and work again. So i really hope that the interview today goes good. i told them right off the bat, about our trip in sept.  it did not stop them for asking me to come in today. so i hope it does not stop me from getting the job... It's really no loss if it does stop me because its not like we need me working, im just doing for some time out of the house.
So wish me luck that will give me the job (even with me leaving for a month in Sept)

mommy's little note about the boys:
roy no longer sits in a high chair, he sits in a booster seat at the table. It makes him feel like a big boy! So yesterday he was coloring at the table and i walk out of the dinning room to get Wes something and i come back and Roy is in Wes high chair coloring away. so last night at dinner time i say you wanna eat? like i always do and he ran right into the dinner room  got onto a chair and then into the high chair and did the same thing when he got up today for breakfast!  I wanted to share because i thought it was funny!

Here we go now!

Im starting this blog, because it seems like every family has one now a days so i thought the Sandberg's better catch up to date with the real world!

Nathan and I have been doing really good. just sitting back enjoying some Apple TV and our pet Fish! well thats in the Quite time we have while the boys sleep!

Roy (now 28 months) is a busy boy. Talking, running around saying all kinds of words. coloring and even getting his 2 year molars. he loves the color orange and never stops saying it.

Wes ( now 18 months old) is just as busy, after trying to get him to walk for months he started when he 15 months old.  now he is starting to learn how to run. its just getting crazy around here! Wes is also teeth, so its not pretty when the little guy is hurting... He is starting to say words too, but also like Roy, only when he wants too... Wes said Mouth last night, almost made me cry... they grow up way too fast! lol

We are getting ready to take a trip back around the world to where we came from! We plan to take a Military Hop back to the States for the whole month of Sept! having no idea how everything is going to plan out is really pretty fun! we only have 1 month and 1 week left until we head back to the states. not looking forward to the 9+ hour plane ride from Germany but its all worth it when we get there!  We are all so happy to get to see Grandma & Grandpa Sandberg and the dog's & Grandma Edwards! and maybe even get to see the Birth of Roy and Wes' new cousin Baby Meeker!!!! thats if the little guy is ready to come out early! his due date is not until Oct 7th. Note for baby meeker: Your Family in germany want to meet you b4 they head back, so please come out of your mommys belly early!!!! thank you!

so much we are looking forward too!

not long after getting back from the month long trip in the states we should be finding out what Base we will be heading to next!!!!! and then PCSing in Feb!!!
